Launch of International Data Exchange database

By UNSD

The UN Statistics Division launched the International Data Exchange database which contains comprehensive data on GDP and its key components, sectoral accounts, employment and population.

The database contains the result of an initiative by several international organizations to disseminate the same set of selected macroeconomic statistics for all economies in the world to ensure the availability of more coherent and consistent macroeconomic data in the databases of these organizations.

For this purpose, the organizations share validated data for their clearly defined designated economies using common Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange (SDMX) protocols. The Statistics Division is currently responsible for sharing data on GDP and its key components, employment and population for 97 economies and data on sectoral accounts for 104 economies.
