Virtual Open Meeting of the Inter-agency and Expert Group on SDG Indicators (IAEG-SDGs)

The Inter-Agency and Expert Group on SDG Indicators (IAEG-SDGs) held an open virtual meeting on 16 September 2020 for Member States, international and regional agencies and entities, and other stakeholders. The meeting entitled Spotlight on SDG monitoring activities and initiatives to fulfill the 2030 Agenda, provided an update of IAEG-SDG working group on measurement of development support, new methodological development on SDG monitoring and national, regional and stakeholder SDG monitoring activities. In addition, a session focused on global SDG monitoring activities, including the soon-to-be launched global network of data officers and statisticians, update on World Statistics Day activities and the details of the upcoming UN World Data Forum.

The meeting was attended by over 200 participants and also included Q&A sessions and interactive discussions (via chat) between participants and presenters. The IAEG-SDGs plans to hold the 11th meeting of the IAEG-SDGs from 3-5 November 2020.
